Maine Boating Sticker Laws

At the dock, the aluminum skiff is for you to use with oars.  On the rack is our Old Town canoe; these craft should be left in this way, and the canoe returned to the rack each day (please land the canoe gently).  Canoe paddles are kept indoors in the closet of the second bedroom.  When boating you will need PFDs (life jackets or vests) on board for each person.  Several are in the deck box, but we recommend you supply and wear your own comfortable life vest all the time.  Because the winds can increase most anytime, you might go out upwind and return home downwind.

Remember that fisherman need licenses and motorboats need an aquatic plants sticker.

The rake to clean the sandy shore area is nearby, if you care to clean up some of the leaves from the bottom that do drift around.  Please bring them into shore and they can go in the woods.  Please get permission before using the neighbors’ swimming floats.  Please use extra care around the water, especially where children are concerned.  Tubes, floating toys, and funnoodles are fine, and lots of fun, but watch the kids!
